She was born at home in a small settlement known as “New Portland Hill”, also known as West New Portland, Maine.
She was the eighth child of Ernest Seth and Mildred Lois Rackliffe Robbins.
They lived in New Vineyard village until together in 1933 they purchased a farm and raised beef cattle on a nice 300 acre farm in New Vineyard Basin, while also working fulltime in F. From 1945 to 1950 they owned and operated Redington Pond Camps.
In 1949 a home was purchased in Farmington, Maine where they resided for many years.
